ENVIRONNEMENT – Desertec : L’Allemagne initie un projet solaire colossal
L’Allemagne en leader du solaire
Derrière ce projet pharaonique – il représenterait un investissement de 400 milliards d’euros sur 40 ans selon l’agence spatiale allemande – c’est clairement l’Allemagne que l’on retrouve. Initié notamment par la branche allemande du think tank Club of Rome, le consortium Desertec a réuni pour la présentation du projet douze entreprises parmi lesquels E.ON, Deutsche Bank, RWE, Siemens et l’agence de réassurance Münchner Rück qui endossera la direction du groupe. Ainsi, l’Allemagne, dont l’image de championne des énergies renouvelables avait été ébranlée ces derniers temps, se positionne en tête de ce qui pourrait être le projet du siècle.

Le concept Desertec est né au sein d’un réseau mondial de scientifiques, de responsables et d’entrepreneurs, le TREC, qui l’a développé en collaboration avec la branche allemande du Club de Rome.
.....Face au risque d’une nouvelle sorte d’écocolonialisme, les auteurs du projet répondent que le transfert technologique et le développement de programmes de formation et d’études sur les énergies renouvelables en MENA est clairement soutenu par les partenaires européens, notamment dans le cadre de l’Union pour la Méditerranée[20].
