Please excuse my English. I agree with this last commentary. It is ridiculous for French citizens to support illegal immigrants, to allow them access to your schools and hospitals,—all the world will rush to France if M. Sarkozy grants an amnesty to all illegals who have children in school !
Segolne Royal has the reasonable and correct attitude, but the country is in the sway of ultra-left liberals, who have given away
the nation’s largesse to foreigners. As a French citizen I would be indignant !
An orderly immigration under the law is the only tolerable solution.
Ms. Royal is absolutely correct in her plan to deny allocations to families whose children are deliquents. The family has the primary responsibility to discipline their children, to form their characters, to oversee their school lessons, and to teach them the basic rules of society : civility and responsibility. But if fathers from North Africa, especially Algeria, have 2 wives, and travel back and forth to Algeria with their allottment of money from the French government...this is a recipe for the family to disintegrate.
Children need a father who works, who comes home each evening after a day’s work to be with them, and who sets a good example of manhood and honesty, and who treats their wives and daughters with respect and kindness.
Ms. Royal would make an excellent President...but will the Senate, dominated by Socialists and Communists, pass any legislation to support her concepts ?
It is sad on the anniversary of the Normandy invasion to realize that American, British, Australian and Polish allies
sacrificed their lives for France,( how many of you realize you speak French today, instead of German, because the allies fought and died for you ?)- and now you are crippled under the spell of Marx and Sartre,- moral relativism. The churches are empty, home-erotic films are viewed on a cable TV nationwide, children run wild on the streets and subways, immigrants trample French civilization under their feet, it is considered « normal » for 25,000 cars a year to be burned by vandals,...where did the great nation go ?
It withered away in a sewer of political corruption, misguided immigration policy, and blind egotism that prevented a genuine dialogue.
