@ Marsupilami,

Absolutely it does not startle me that one who is an aetheist lives a ’moral’ life,....but does this mean you decide what is moral, or immoral ?

I did not allude to God or to ’faith’ to be attacked.

Not everone is blessed with parents to guide them, to teach them basic principles. In this respect religion serves a valid and contructive role.

Also on the spiritual dimension,( read Jung, read C.S. Lewis), for some of us, it fills a need, and gives direction.

One of the bloggers said I must be a ’copine’ of Pres. Bush if I am a Christian.

This is a pretty frivolous assertion.

Also the numerous attacks on our President seem to forget the difference between the individual person, and the role as President. It is one thing to criticize his politics, it is altogether another thing to attack him as an individual.

I am deeply saddened by the civil war which has erupted in Iraq, which leaves me to question the wisdom of this ’war’,- but this does not lead me to vitriolic attacks on him personally.

There is a difference...do you agree ?

Similarly I find it quite simplistic of many of your bloggers who refer to American culture AS THOUGH THEY HAVE LIVED HERE AND REALLY KNOW US !

They are fed a lot of negativity from your media( TV and newspapers, both of which feast on anti-Americanism), and they drink this in eagerly because they wish to reinforce their prejudice.

Now, let’s all move on,- there is life to be lived,- with God,- or without !

I declare a truce in the verbal warfare !
