Joseph Stiglitz mérite d’être amplement connu, notamment pour un travail bien payé qu’il effectua en 2002 pour le compte de Fannie Mae et Freddie Mac. Vous rappelez, ce sont ces deux institutions para étatiques qui garantissaient les sub primes, et dont les difficultés ont initié la dernière crise de l’étatisme.
Et bien, dans un rapport qui a disparu du net (bizarre) il affirmait après avoir sans doute fait tourner un de ces merveilleux logiciels qui nous prédisent l’apocalypse climatique que ces institutions ne pouvaient faire faillite. Manque de bol. smiley

To update that analysis, we commissioned Joseph Stiglitz (2001 Nobel Prize winner in economics), Jonathan Orszag, and Peter Orszag to examine the likelihood of the risk-based capital scenario. Their econometric analysis found that the probability of the stress test scenario is conservatively one in 500,000 and may be smaller than one in three million. As a result, they find that the risk of a default by these companies, if they hold sufficient capital to meet the stress test, is “effectively zero".
